Ben Curson
Teaching in Egypt and Saudi Arabia at a young age gave me an insight into different cultures but a realisation that ultimately, people are driven by the same fundamental issues
Studying journalism in Liverpool taught me the pressure of a deadline and a sense of news. Working as a press officer taught me that in-house PR professionals have equal if not greater pressures put upon them as both journalists and agency staff.
I have worked closely with many financial and professional services businesses for over a decade. Their reputations suffer because of the actions of a few but are often lead by inspirational, visionary and dedicated individuals.
I have run 5 marathons. I thrive on a challenge and the feeling of achievement on crossing the line is hard to describe. It also teaches you that the discipline of the physical training is vital, but being mentally tough will get you to the finish.
Running teams and a business has taught me that collaboration and cooperation is the key. You can have any number of brilliant individuals but they will not achieve half as much as a committed collective effort.
