Paul Sinclair

Lead counsel, public affairs

Working in the Prime Minister’s office taught me how to work fast and accurately under pressure – and how to thrive on it.

I was prepared for that after fifteen years in the media working in print and television. A journalist’s day is made up of a series of quick judgements and decisions which must all have a sound rationale.

Television taught me the power of the visual and newspapers allowed me to hone my skills to write quickly and accurately, in an arresting and accessible way.

In television I worked in everything from hard news to light entertainment, and in papers from sport to politics, in broadsheets and in tabloids.

That taught me always to know what your audience wants and to learn how to meet those needs.
