H+K expands new behavioural insights team with NHS hire
LONDON – Hill+Knowlton Strategies (H+K) London announces the arrival of Dan Berry today to its growing behavioural insights and strategies team. Dan will join H+K Smarter as a behavioural strategist.
Dan joins H+K from the Department of Health where he established and led the behavioural insights team. He led numerous behavioural trials and evaluations, most of them communications focused, to tackle issues within the NHS.
These included reducing the overprescribing of antibiotics by doctors, reducing hospital appointment no-shows, and increasing the number of patients adhering to drug treatments. In 2014, Dan was joint winner of the UK’s Government Social Research Award for research “of high quality that is innovative and demonstrates practical value”.
H+K Smarter launched at the start of the year with the aim of applying the science of human behaviour to make smarter, more effective communications. It is led by Matt Battersby who recently completed an Executive M.Sc. in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and was previously head of H+K’s financial services team.
Dan’s expertise and experience in behavioural science will strengthen H+K’s position as an industry leader in this field.” Matt Battersby says, adding, “There are very few people who possess the first-hand experience that Dan has in applying behavioural insights to such practical and tangible challenges. His knowledge will be a great asset for us.”
