What we've been up to this week: 26 February
As the AW16 London Fashion Week came to a close this week holding one of the most prestigious and star-studded fashion awards of the year; the ELLE Style Awards 2016,our tech team were sure not to miss being in the mix on the swanky affair alongside the UK Huawei client.
Rubbing shoulders with Karlie Kloss, Ellie Goulding, Jamie XX and Stella McCartney amongst others, the event was held at London's Tate Britain on Tuesday night and hosted by Nick Grimshaw.
Top prizes of the night were awarded to the likes of Annie Lennox, Jourdan Dunn, Liv Tyler and Lana Del Rey. Not to mention, a blast from the past surprise performance by 90s girl group All Saints – making their first public appearance since announcing their reunion! They were celebrating releasing their new single, One Strike, ahead of their comeback album Red Flag.
Reporting back to us on their performance it was described as ‘in a nutshell – EPIC!’ (see the video below!)
Whilst some members of the Tech team were celebrating London Fashion Week, others flew out to Barcelona for the annual gathering of the mobile industry, Mobile World Congress.
They had a great time seeing if last week’s blog 5 Things To Expect at Mobile World Congress 2016, by our Magnify Team was correct and testing out some of the latest trends in the industry.
And it’s not just a pair of pins that you’ll find on the catwalks this year but also the world’s most favourite cookie turned into a fashionista this season!
Oreo’s launched their own limited edition collection of five unique cookie designs, the H+K Mondelez team partnered with foodie Instagram artist Gretchen Roehrs to create the #oreocollection, just in time for London Fashion Week.
Each limited edition Oreo is embossed with fun design, and to showcase the playful twist on the iconic original design, Gretchen was commissioned to create a set of wonderfully whimsical food art illustrations to inspire people to go out and collect (/eat) the wonderfilled new look.

- The Twist - Open up your imagination
- The Pencil - Open up to creativity
- Light Bulb - Open up to new ideas
To highlight the #oreocollection to the media the team worked the designs into a ‘look book’, which were thengifted to 15 fashionista media contacts at publications such as Stylist, Grazia and The Huffington Post. The special gifts were also issued to a select number of well-known lifestyle bloggers.
The look books were boxed up with packets of the limited Oreo biscuit and wrapped in personalised wrapping paper, incorporating images from the journalist/blogger’s Instagram mingled with fashion led images from the Oreo Instagram page.
