What we've been up to: 27 November

As we excitedly prepare for our ‘Super’ Christmas party, it seemed fitting to use this entry to summarise all of November’s brilliant work!

On Thursday, H+K’s Public Affairs team spent the afternoon analysing the Chancellor’s budget, and produced theseinsights for our clients. Alternatively, take a read of Twitter’s response to the Autumn Statement!

The Retail + Leisure team have been prepping for their last event in the “Sounds of the Neighbourhood” campaign for Hotel Indigo (IHG) this week. Taking place this Sunday at Hotel Indigo Glasgow, the final ‘Sunday Social’ is set to be a fun event, co-hosted by Edith Bowman and Mylo and celebrating a host of local artists and food.

The Healthcare team were at the House of Commons on Wednesday night holding a Parliamentary event with HEART UK - the Cholesterol Charity - and Benecol, to discuss the management of cholesterol in primary care.

The event was hosted by Stuart Andrew MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Heart Disease, and saw a lively debate between our speakers: Jules Payne, CEO of HEART UK, Jamie Waterall, National Lead of the NHS Health Check programme, Dr Roger Henderson, GP, and Dr Alan Rees, Consultant Physician and HEART UK Medical Director. The event was attended by MPs, healthcare professionals and media.

Over half of all UK adults have raised cholesterol levels and high cholesterol is one of the most significant risk factors for developing heart disease. The consensus amongst the attendees was that we must and can raise awareness of the importance of effective cholesterol management, and ensure it remains a priority in the NHS.

We have also had a busy month for new business with congratulations due to our Financial + Professional Services team who recently won the pitch to become the retained agency for eToro, an innovative social trading platform.

It has also been a successful fortnight for awards!

At the ICCO Global Awards last night, our Energy + Industrials team won the ‘Media Relations’ award for their great EEDC work.

In addition, our CPG and FPS teams took home gongs at last week’s Drum Content Awards – “Best FMCG/Consumer Product Content Marketing Strategy” for Pampers #everybaby and “Best Financial Services Content Marketing Strategy” for HSBC Expat Explorer. The E + I team also received a Special Commendation in the Professional Services category for their work with io oil & gas.

Coming up next week, H+K’s Richard Millar and Simon Shaw will be at Eurobest to discuss “How to Disrupt your Business” alongside Hyper Island, the change agency. If you are attending the festival, make sure not to miss out, they will be talking in The Studio from 4:00-4:30. You can find out more about the session here.
