What we've been up to this week: 19 August
Our H+Kers have been doing a lot of exciting stuff this week, including a close-encounter with a furry friend.
Whilst Team GB continues to impress with its medal haul at this year’s Olympic Games, our Finance and Professional services team have been working hard at promoting one of the Olympic Games long term partners as they support the next generation of top performers. Memories of London 2012 came flooding back for many team members as they arranged interviews with key national and trade titles in the UK, and prepared toolkits for use in other European markets. As the world comes together for the closing ceremony on Monday, we’ll be preparing to welcome these athletes home, congratulate them on their victories, and further amplify their achievements.
Thinking with Google
As part of our weekly tech speculator session we were honoured to have Google visit us at our London HQ on Wednesday. Nayem Chowdhury who heads up Google’s relationships with some of the biggest advertising and comms partners showed us that Google is so much more than the familiar search engine we all turn to when we don’t know the answer. With a reach of 90% of the global internet population, Google has an enviable amount of data at its disposable and this can be harnessed through Think with Google. Through this hub there are a whole range of tools on offer, including Google Consumer Survey, Keyword Planner and Consumer Barometer to name a few. It’s well worth taking a look as there is a lot on there to be exploited.
A taste of Mexico
Last night the Old El Paso team hosted the launch of the NEW Mini Stand ‘N’ Stuff by inviting media to a sneak preview of their Mini Mexican cantina down on the Southbank. Fifteen media including a mix of national, online and bloggers, were greeted by a mini mariachi band & maître D mini Danny Trejo before being looked after by his larger than life staff. Sampling an array of Mini Stand ‘N’ Stuff tacos, the preview kick-started a two day free taco giveaway on the Southbank – so get down there today or tomorrow and enjoy the #MiniMexican fiesta!
